Humanity in Action: Three Lives, Countless Hearts Battling Together

An 18-year-old woman was admitted to Tangail Medical College Hospital in intense labor pain, carrying twins. With her were her husband, mother-in-law, and a coworker—all brick kiln workers who had come from Habiganj to Tangail for a six-month work contract.

The patient arrived at the hospital 10 hours after her labor pain began, by which time she had already lost a significant amount of blood and was gradually slipping into a state of exhaustion. Upon arrival, they initially fell prey to a middleman, but due to their dire financial condition, they couldn’t afford his demands, and he abandoned them. On top of this, they didn’t even know the basic concept of a blood group. The language barrier, due to their Sylheti dialect, made it difficult for the doctors to understand the patient’s condition.

In this critical moment, the skilled doctors of the gynecology department performed a Ventouse delivery, successfully delivering two healthy baby girls. However, after the delivery, the patient began bleeding excessively and went into shock.

To save her life, five bags of blood were urgently needed. With the tireless efforts of the doctors and responsible individuals at Tangail Medical College, four bags of blood were arranged. However, the challenge came when the fifth bag was needed. Finding a new donor at nearly midnight was difficult, but then a Moshal Alo volunteer stepped forward. Despite having fainted twice from donating blood in the past, he responded to the call of humanity and donated once again. PL-4

  • Date of Donation: 4th May 2025
  • Blood Group: A+ (Positive)
  • Donation Number: 7th

After donating blood, he shared his thoughts:

“My blood will flow through someone else’s heart. I may never meet this person, nor will they ever know my name, but I will live on inside their heartbeat. What could be a more priceless feeling?”

Additionally, Moshal Alo provided 1,000 BDT in financial assistance for the patient’s treatment. Another 1,000 BDT was given from our health sector to help with the treatment of a cancer patient.

We are proud to have played a role in this humanitarian effort. We believe, "Standing beside people— that is our light."
