A young and brave volunteer from Moshal Alo has donated blood for the very first time– Alhamdulillah!
I used to think blood donation was only for the brave. The thought of needles, pain, and blood would send chills down my spine. I never imagined I could be one of them.
Then one night, at 11:35 PM, I got a message from a friend:
‘Brother, AB+ blood is urgently needed for a C-section. The operation can’t start without it.’
My heart filled with fear. Excuses rushed through my mind—‘Not today, I’m not feeling well,’ ‘It’s too late’… but then a thought struck me: what if one day I’m in need and others turn away just like I was about to? That realization gave me strength. I asked, “Tell me, where do I need to go?”
At the hospital, I lay down on the donation bed—still nervous. I closed my eyes, whispered prayers, and placed my trust in Allah. Suddenly I heard, “Almost done— just one more minute.” I was shocked! I didn’t even realize when the needle went in or when the blood started flowing.
Soon after, the nurse gave me a cotton ball and said, “Press here.” I looked and saw a bag filled with my blood. A strange peace filled my heart. I couldn’t believe that this bag of life came from me. My chest swelled with pride. Yes, I did it. My blood will now flow through someone else’s veins. I am now one of the brave— Alhamdulillah!”
We hope to continue this life-saving journey every 4 months. From Vain to Heart.
